lol honeypot. Ever since Mr Robot mentioned the word "honeypot", all these little teenagers come in here and use the word "honeypot". This shit is hilarious, makes me want to slap the braces off of each one these teens.

I have never heard of "Mr Robot" but i can assure you that screaming honeypot is usual on suddenly unsecure webchats since like forever.

I don't believe this is the case. This message was streamed on youtube as it was their only way to communicate with the public as their intended site was being ddosed. If you haven't seen part 1 of the stream (the only part available for download thus far) I recommend you do so and judge for youself.

Nah, it wasn't a honeypot. In theory the could collect IP addresses, but they wouldn't, it wasn't like you needed a password from the onion site to access the you tube video or something, and it was publicised all over the clear web...not to mention you could have stumbled across the you tube video....it was just a troll. Probably someone either wanting publicity for something or someone reading the megathread and laughing their assess off at everyone.

Do you think that the youtube thing was not related with the onion site?

I think it was all a hoax and that there is nothing deeper than that going on. I dont know if someone streamed from that site to you tube...but as a honeypot exercise it would be pointless because the you tube link was available on the clear web. So you didn't have to visit the onion site to get the you tube link is what im getting at, ok ip addresses probably could be gathered of all devices that accessed the you tube stream. But what does that prove to LE? That you followed a you tube link you found on reddit to see what it was...nothing illegal about that.

We will probably hear that there is a movie or tv show coming out and that it was all publicity for that.
